Pinyon Back to Back Days
Been ridin Pinyon the last couple of days. So many options can be put together riding in the high desert. A couple days of rain and snow opened up a trail usually to loose to ride.
Switchbacks dropping you into Olmstett Wash.
Started on the Pinyon trail and connected to Palm Canyon.

Roshon riding the slalom course with Cats Claws and cactus as the borders.
Signage for our cutoff and the start of Potrero Canyon. Found out this connector should only be done after a rain. If timed good you pedal the wash for about a mile and a half and then connect to the ol' 4X4 double/singletrack.

Ran into a Longhorn Bull on the Upper End.

View of the Old Grove after a stout climb.
Been kinda nice on the eyes. High desert really shows off after a lil bit o water.

All Day Fun

My steed playing camera whore on the Connector Trail.
First time conditions for me, normally I'm visiting at the other end of the spectrum.
The Jedi trail was just plain special. Snow was as deep as a couple of feet in many spots. It was just hold on and ride. Flew over the bars once to the delight of fresh deep snow. It's kinda goofy how a couple of grown men giggle like lil schoolgirls in conditions like this.
View of Potrero Canyon.Found some trails in this area I will try to loop this coming weekend.
Looked kinda ZEN to me.So this ride had some objectives to it. One hearing from a local Pinyon Cowgirl/MTBer was that there was Butta near.........We didn't find it but enjoyed the hiking we did in a few canyons.
Second was finding tha Ol' Live Oaks trail to Palm Canyon trail. Had a failed attempt in the fall of 2006 with the Raptorman. That trip is named "carry your bike up and down canyons and bumming a couple of Budweisers from some hunters" ride/adventure. This trip was a failed attempt too. This time it was a hike down a water drainage gap in the side of the canyon.

Bla Bla Bla
I guess I tend to state that every couple of months.
Recaps:
Solo attempt at the 12 hrs of Temecula great race but I blew up my legs and my rear hub. A big shout out goes to Brendan and Brett for the huge effort in the race.
T-Day rode a geared full sussy bike with Andrew at Noble. Has to be at least a year since I rode one. Took a bit to reacquaint myself with this style of pedal machine but once the climb up Indian creek was over it was just GOLDEN on the descent.
Enjoyed some time spent with my lil bro. Been a while for the two of us. He is really diggin the Colorado thing....I really need to get out there in 2008.......must find a epic near Co Springs.
Started the niteriding thing again. You know it is just that time of year. Been running a cheap lil 10 watt just to spice things up. Temps are dropping and the trails are fresh.
Got one of those forbidden rides this sat am. Good fun route with a warm food destination smackdab in the middle of the ride.........I hope it is open.
If you are in the Tucson area Chad has one of those Undieground things going on the weekend of 12/8. Check it out looks to be a good one.

Spanish Butta Trail
Riders attended Frank"the cool guy", Roshan "I may pedal slow but I won't give up", Oscar "the resident Beaner", and myself.
Started at 6:30 and it was Fing cold luckily this expedition started on a 5 mile climb. Felt mega good on the climb, body was so responsive to whatever I wanted to do. Peaked it out and searched for a sun spot while a waited for the group.
So we started the downhill to Live Oaks. All I can say is "WEEEEEEEEEEEE".
Spring is flowing strong. No apples on the tree but that is not why we were there.
Started the Jedi trail and boy was it overgrown once it stopped me in my tracks and I could of won any trackstand contest against anyone, vines were wrapped like an octopus sucked to the bike and me minus the suction.
So we made it to the Butta and you know what there was no Butta. Looks like they didn't make it back this year. So back we went. Man can Oscar cry the whole way back was "I can't believe there was no Butta".
So my mind started working............I need to ride some more and I planted the seed with Frank&Roshan maybe we should ride a lil Idie.
So by the time we got back to my house and my lovely wife had Potato bisque and fresh homemade pretzels "Thanks Hun". The boys were pumped up for a ride and it was there idea to leave from the house.
I was stoked but inside I was wondering how long there legs would last.
So worked our way down to the Arts center and crossed over to May Valley. Frank forgot about the climb to May Valley and Roshan was cursing him for once and not me. So we rode Sunset, logpile, 1st bro, Tea cup, exfoliator, and coyote run. There wasn't any more pep in there legs so Yumi got the call at Lake Hemet market.
Ended up being a good day of ridin' with great peeps.

AA Meeting
Meeting place was Adams Ave bikes. This nite included a special trip over to Sycamore Canyon/Martha's Grove.
All I can say is "WOW" I haven't ridden out here in a couple of years and this place has recovered from the fire and is better than it ever was.
A good group of characterz along on this ride. Ernesto fast as ever, Andrew throwing it down, Whitey as slow as ever, David Kaiser a greenhorn that came with me, PP thanks for the help with the pedal, and some of Ernesto's crew.
Great ride and I blew up an Eggbeater parts where everywhere. Crank says they will warranty and if that happens I will load them as a link on the BLOG.

Sunday Ride
Specifically picked a route with a good amount of climbing. Kind of a pre-Flag ride to gauge conditioning. Descended down to Hemet and even ran Hell Razor before we started the 4000' climb.
Stats roughly 25 miles........9 descending.........16 climbing. These two guys are tough neither one has been riding much lately but the gutted out a really good day of riding. Also they Rocked Hell Razor with a minimal amount of Carnage.
